The Science Support Platform (SSP) is a central support platform offering state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based analyses of metabolites and proteins in a broad range of samples matrices to both internal and external research groups.

The Science Support Platform comprises three experts in proteomics and metabolomics, on liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) as well as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). In addition, the team is complemented by a bioinformatician, and supports data stewardship via the the German National Research Data Infrastructure “FAIRagro” consortium.

We support IGZ researchers and collaborators by providing advice on experimental designs, analytical and bioinformatic method development. In addition, we provide hands-on training to (early career) researchers on how to proficiently use the various analytical platforms as well as the data generated. Furthermore, the experts in the Science Support Platform provide a program for (hands-on) training elements on the various platforms, bioinformatic courses and data management workshops. Our service portfolio is frequently extended and updated.
