Leibniz Institute for Horticultural Sciences (IGZ)
New Name – same Mission
The Leibniz Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) is becoming the Leibniz Institute for Horticultural Sciences (IGZ).
With this name change, the IGZ is acknowledging its strategic development. The new name more accurately reflects the institute’s current research profile: the institute conducts interdisciplinary research across the entire horticultural value chain – from molecular processes and sustainable production systems to issues of societal transformation.
The renaming strengthens the institute’s disciplinary roots in horticultural sciences whilst also enhancing its international connectivity. The scientific profile, mission and the acronym IGZ remain unchanged.
