Berlin Science Week
The international Science Festival
01.11. – 10.11.2022 | Berlin
Every year, the Berlin Science Week takes place in the German capital. Together with numerous exciting organisations from Berlin and the world, Berlin Science Week presents a rich programme that offers insights into current research and innovation in science, evokes discussions on the grand challenges of our time, and encourages inspiring encounters in diverse and engaging formats.
This year we are participating in the IGZ with three exciting contributions from the Project zirkulierBAR:
-
Shaping Communities - The Simulation Game on Nutrient Recycling - Thursday, November 3, 2022, 16:00-19:00: Hannah Wiemers (HNEE) and Markus Ulrich present a simulation game developed in zirkulierBAR.
-
Water, a neglected resource - Friday, November 4, 2022, 9:30-11:00: Greta Sundermann, Gero Scheck, and Christian von Hirschhause (TU Berlin) will present research findings from DIW Berlin and TU Berlin and place them in the context of current trends in water and environmental economics.
-
zirkulierBAR: Back to the Cycle - A Journey into the Future of Sanitation - Friday, November 4, 2022, 11:00-12:00: The future we want, we must actively shape. Therefore, in our interactive session, we ask the question: how can a sanitation system look like in the future that on the one hand conserves the scarce resource water and on the other hand contributes to the circular use of nutrients? First, Hannah Bergmann (CeRRI of Fraunhofer IAO) gives a brief insight into "Circular Future Scenarios for Urban and Rural Areas 2040" and shows how a resilient supply in terms of circular economy can look like. Ariane Krause (IGZ) will then present what is already possible in the present and what is being researched in REGION.innovativ - zirkulierBAR. Then we would like to engage in an exchange with visitors about what barriers people see (or don't see) in bringing sanitary waste into a nutrient cycle.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
