Berlin Science Week | Science for All: Diverse Voices on the Box

Soapbox Science hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, Vielfalt und Inklusion in der wissenschaftlichen Gemeinschaft zu fördern und eine Plattform zu bieten, auf der alle Stimmen und Perspektiven gehört werden können.

Soapbox Science Berlin macht mit bei der diesjährigen Berlin Science Week (CAMPUS) mit der Veranstaltung "Science for all: Diverse Voices on the Box".

"Who is a scientist? At this short talks event women* and LGBTQ+ scientists present on a range of topics.
Soapbox Science Berlin and LGBTQ+ in STEM Berlin present a series of bite-sized talks highlighting groundbreaking research across fields including neuroscience, computer science, agriculture, and climate science. Women* and LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bi, trans queer, +) speakers will present their work, demonstrating how their diverse perspectives contribute to innovation and scientific progress. Whether you're a science enthusiast or just curious, this laid-back event offers an engaging way to learn something new and be part of exciting conversations."

Mit dabei ist IGZ-Wissenschaftler Artem Filipenko. Der Doktorand arbeitet an der Entwicklung ressourcenoptimierter Produktionssysteme für den kontrollierten Anbau in Gewächshäusern und Indoor-Farmen und erweitert diese Systeme um Koproduktions- und Kreislaufsysteme wie beispielsweise Fische und Pflanzen in Aquaponik.

"The future of farming is clean

The talk will be about my PhD project and cover the concept of aquaponics in general as a cool way to save resources during production of food and leave as small an environmental footprint as possible. After this part I will describe in detail which directions are chosen to optimize and improve aquaponics."
