The Leibniz Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) was recently awarded the audit workandfamiliy certificate once again. The award was presented yesterday in Berlin as part of the 27th certificate ceremony by Mareike Wulf, the Parliamentary State Secretary representing Federal Minister for Family Affairs and patron Karin Prien and Oliver Schmitz, Managing Director of berufundfamilie Service GmbH.

This is the fifth time since 2012 that IGZ has been awarded the quality seal for the systematic design of family and life-phase-conscious HR policies. Since 2022, the certificate has also carried the additional rating, which recognises the institute's long-standing and continuous commitment to a work environment that promotes work-life balance.

The award of the quality seal was preceded by a structured auditing process. The core element of the dialogue process, this year's dialogue day, was dedicated to the topic of "Culture and communication at IGZ". Under the leadership of auditor Regine Steinhauer, the current framework conditions were reflected on and development needs identified in several rounds of talks.

As a result, a new action programme was drawn up, which will be used to continue existing measures and initiate new ones. Among other things, employees at the IGZ have access to qualification and further training opportunities, flexible arrangements regarding working hours and location, as well as health-promoting programmes. The implementation of the action programme is coordinated by the "Work and Family" working group. Employees are still invited to submit suggestions and feedback on existing measures as well as ideas for new programmes.

The IGZ would like to expressly thank Dr Rita Grosch for her many years of commitment as chair of the working group and her support during the current audit process. She has been succeeded by Dr Kerstin Böse
