Potsdam Day of Sciences 2025

On May 10, 2024, the "Potsdam Day of Sciences" will take place for the 12th time. On this Saturday, more than 40 universities, schools, and research institutions from Brandenburg will showcase their work beyond the walls of their institutes at the Potsdam Science Park in Golm (Potsdam).

The Leibniz Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) will also be part of the event once again.

Under the motto "Colorful Cabbage, Healthy Diversity: Taste, See, and Understand," we invite you to explore the fascinating world of cabbage with all your senses.

At our stand, you can experience the many different appearances, textures, and flavours of cabbage—and learn how its diverse nutrients contribute to a healthy diet. Discover natural pigments in a hands-on experiment and test your sense of touch by identifying different cabbage varieties.

"Wilde Liese" will demonstrate at 3 p.m. how to prepare cabbage in a creative and delicious way. Did you know that cauliflower comes not only in white but also in purple, green, and orange? As you watch and taste, you'll learn more about the valuable nutrients in colorful cabbage and how cooking methods affect its flavor and health benefits.
